Carlton Spotlight: Connor Arnold

At Carlton National Resources, growth in Hardware and Software business development comes from persistence, relationship building, and continuous learning. For Connor Arnold, Business Development Manager on the Hardware and Software team, each day focuses on identifying new client partnerships and strengthening long-term relationships.

Building Strong Client Partnerships

Connor targets companies that use contract engineers within the technical skill sets where Carlton National excels. Once he identifies those organizations, his priority becomes building trusted partnerships with key decision-makers.

“My role at Carlton is to identify companies that utilize contract engineers within the skill sets where our engineers excel. Once those companies are identified, my focus is on developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to generate long term, ongoing partnerships,” he explains.

Collaboration also plays a major role in his daily success.

“Success in my role depends heavily on close collaboration with our recruiting team, who are in constant communication with engineers across the country. Their insight into the market is invaluable, and I’m fortunate to work alongside a team that sets the standard in our industry.”

Learning From the Carlton Team

What Connor values most about Carlton National is the culture inside the office. He describes an environment filled with driven professionals who share a collective vision.

“I’m surrounded by talented, driven individuals who are motivated to work hard and build this company into the best in the industry. While individual success is important to all of us, there’s a shared commitment to the bigger picture. We support one another and work collaboratively to ensure everyone succeeds together.”

Connor also values the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders across the organization.

“I am grateful to learn from people like Jerry Cerrutti, Frederick Haddad, David (DJ) Fazio and Steven Berry who have all had tremendous success. I value the lessons I learn from them each day.”

A Milestone That Built Confidence

A defining milestone in Connor’s Carlton National journey came at the end of 2024 when he made his first placement.

Connor entered the staffing industry without prior experience. Reaching that milestone required months of focused effort and skill development.

“Successfully placing two engineers at a respected defense company not only validated that I could succeed in this field, but also gave me the confidence to keep building momentum moving forward,” he shares.

The accomplishment reinforced his growth and gave him greater confidence in his long-term potential.

Turning Challenges Into Learning Opportunities

Challenges come with any business development role, but Connor approaches them with perspective.

“I try to approach every situation as a learning opportunity. When something doesn’t go as planned, I reflect on it, adjust my approach, and use that experience to improve moving forward.”

He also draws inspiration from seasoned staffing professional Vincent Straccia. Connor studies his communication style and client approach to sharpen his own strategy.

“I liken it to a young quarterback studying the film of a future Hall of Famer, learning from the best while developing your own unique game.”

Life Outside the Office

Outside of work, Connor channels his competitive drive into coaching. He is currently in his eighth year as an assistant coach for the Andover High School girls varsity basketball team.

During that time, the program has captured two Division 1 state championships and made three state finals appearances. This season, the team stands at an impressive 17-1.

Connor is also building something entirely different outside of staffing and basketball. He runs a growing Instagram account dedicated to reviewing clam chowder across the country.

“We’re still refining our brand and overall image, but the momentum is building. I’m excited about the foundation we’ve laid and fully expect 2026 to be a breakout year for @Chowdah.To.Yah.”

Continuing to Grow in Hardware and Software Business Development

Motivation for Connor comes from mentorship, self-development, and the opportunity to keep improving.

He focuses on sharpening his strategy, expanding his client base, and becoming a reliable long-term partner for the organizations he supports.

His advice to those just starting at Carlton National reflects that mindset.

“Fully invest in the training. Having a strong understanding of the technical skill sets we work with, especially in software and hardware engineering, makes a significant difference. The more knowledgeable you are, the more confident and effective you’ll be when speaking with clients and candidates.”

Looking ahead, Connor wants to continue building momentum. He hopes to guide future new hires, contribute positively to the office culture, and strengthen his reputation as a trusted partner.

“I know I still have room to grow, but I see the path forward and am confident in my ability to achieve these goals.”

Through discipline, collaboration, and a strong commitment to growth, Connor continues to make his mark within the Hardware and Software division.

Thank you, Connor, for the hard work and dedication you bring to Carlton National Resources.
